A Lesson in Propaganda!
A biker was riding
by the zoo when he saw a little girl leaning into the lion's cage.
Suddenly, the lion
grabbed her by the cuff of her jacket and tried to pull her inside to
slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents.
The biker jumped off
his bike, ran to the cage, and hit the lion square on the nose with a
powerful punch.
Whimpering from the
pain, the lion jumped back, letting go of the girl, and the biker brought
her to her terrified parents, who thanked him profusely and without end.
A newspaper reporter
had seen the whole scene and, addressing the biker, said, “Sir, that was
the most gallant and brave thing I ever saw a man do.”
“Why, it was
nothing, really,” said the biker. “The
lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger, and did what I
thought was the right thing to do.”
“Well,” said the
amazed reporter. “I'll make sure this
doesn't go unnoticed. I'm a journalist for The New York Times, and
tomorrow's paper will have this story on the front page!
“What kind of motorcycle
do you ride and what is your political affiliation?” he asked.
“I drive a Harley Davidson and I am a
Republican,” said the biker.
The following
morning, the biker bought The New York Times to see if it
indeed printed news of his actions the previous day, and read the
following headline on the front page:
REPUBLICAN BIKER GANG MEMBER ASSAULTS AN AFRICAN
IMMIGRANT AND STEALS HIS LUNCH.
