MOSCOW, Russia (PNN) - June 19, 2025 - Russian President Vladimir Putin has given a green light. The Kremlin finally got around to posting the full Russian text of its recent press conference; there is still no official English text.
President Putin also reveals that he arranged with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to hit the Bushehr reactor where there are 200 Russians at work. “We have agreed,” President Putin said at the presser, “with the leadership of Israel, which will ensure their security.”
Karim Talbi (Head of European news for Agence France-Presse) said, “My question concerns Iran. There is a Strategic Partnership Agreement between Russia and Iran. It does not provide for the protection of Iran from the outside by Russia, but still there is a question of weapons. Given the severity of this situation, are you ready to provide new weapons to Iran so it can defend itself from Israeli strikes?”
Vladimir Putin said, “You know, we once offered our Iranian friends to work in the field of air defense system. The partners did not show much interest at that time, that is all. With regard to the Strategic Treaty, the partnership you mentioned about, there are no articles related to the defense sphere. That is the second point. Third. To us our Iranian friends have not asked for that; so there is almost nothing to discuss.”
