Rookie Senator Rand Paul goes for the jugular in this brilliant clip from the floor of the U.S. Senate during a hearing of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, in which he directs his remarks to Casey Hogan of the Dept of Energy. He accuses federal regulators of accomplishing mandates by threatening people with fines unless they comply. He calls this tactic decidely un-American. Go get ‘em Senator Paul!

Japan declares nuclear emergency after earthquake!

This disturbing report features images of the devastation caused by a 9.1 magnitude earthquake (upgraded from 8.9) and the resulting tsunamis. This is a genuine catastrophe of major proportions. The consequences are far-reaching and extensive, though nobody can yet tell how bad the situation really is. Our prayers go out to the affected and dispossessed.
